Message from the Chairman
Welcome to the U.S.-Korea Business Council (USKBC). I am honored and pleased to serve as its Chairman. My company, Qualcomm, enjoys a long-standing, mutually beneficial relationship with Korean businesses, academia and governmental institutions that has led to great technological innovation in the mobile handset industry. It is my hope that with the support of the USKBC, American companies become even more successful in the Korean market.
The USKBC consists of major U.S. companies with investment and business interests in Korea and is a leading force in strengthening bilateral relations. The USKBC provides high-level channels for member companies to advance their relationship with Korea and effectively address any challenges that may arise. We hold numerous events throughout the year, including private roundtables with senior government officials and an annual plenary meeting with our counterparts at the Korea-U.S. Business Council, which is managed by the Federation of Korean Industries and comprised of top Korean business executives.
Korea is a smart destination for businesses looking to enter this fast-growing region, and the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS), in force since March 15, 2012, provides new market opportunities for U.S. businesses. On behalf of the U.S.-Korea Business Council, I invite you to join us and become part of a strong and leading business organization that can help your company in Korea.
Dr. Paul E. Jacobs
Chairman, U.S.-Korea Business Council
Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO, Qualcomm Incorporated
